Ingredients (Makes 2-4 servings)

  • 4 medium carrots
  • 2 large or 3 medium beets (peeling optional, see note below)
  • 1 bunch of kale (about 4-6 large leaves, stems included)
  • 1 small piece of fresh ginger (1/2 inch for a milder kick, 1 inch for more spice)

Instructions

  1. Wash the carrots, beets, kale, and ginger thoroughly. If you like, trim the ends of the carrots and beets. Peeling the beets is optional (see our note below!).

  2. Add the ingredients to your juicer and press start. The hands-free design makes juicing effortless—just let it do its magic while you prep for the day!

  3. Once everything is juiced, you can pour a small amount of water through the juicer to extract every last bit of goodness.

  4. Stir the juice to combine the flavors evenly, then pour into glasses or jars. Sip one right away, share with loved ones, or store in glass jars to enjoy over the next day.

Tips & Notes

Sweetness Balance

The natural sweetness in this juice comes from the carrots and beets. If you prefer a sweeter juice, add an extra carrot or two.

Kale Stems: To Remove or Not?

No need to remove kale stems unless you find their flavor too bitter. The Nama J2 juicer handles them with ease, and they’re packed with extra nutrients and fiber.

Should You Peel Your Beets?

The short answer: It’s up to you!

When to Skip Peeling:

  • If your beets are organic and cleaned well, you can juice them with the skin on. The peel contains additional nutrients, and the juicer will handle it beautifully.
  • Don’t forget the beet leaves—they’re loaded with nutrients, too!
  • To clean beets effectively, scrub them under running water with a vegetable brush and trim off the rough top and root ends.

When to Peel:

  • If your beets are non-organic, peeling helps reduce pesticide exposure.
  • If the skin is particularly thick or bitter, peeling can improve the juice’s taste, making it slightly less earthy.

The juicer I recommend:

People always ask me what I use to juice, and I absolutely love my Nama J2 juicer!  It looks so cute on my counter and makes juicing incredibly easy. I didn’t realize how much I’d appreciate the hands-free function until I tried it—it truly makes juicing a breeze.

One of my favorite features is how easy it is to clean. I’ve timed myself, and it only takes me 6 minutes to thoroughly clean it. I’m very particular when it comes to cleaning, so I was thrilled that Nama designed the juicer with every nook and cranny in mind. They even include the perfect-sized cleaning brush to make the job effortless.
